A five-point check before every install
- 1Measure the thread or opening — most items use common G1/2 threads or standard waste sizes.
- 2Close the relevant shut-off valve and relieve pressure before removing any part.
- 3Keep the old part until the upgrade is fitted and checked for drips.
- 4Hand-tighten first; only snug with a tool if the item instructions call for it.
- 5Run water and watch each joint for a minute before calling the job done.
